The Data Management Unit (DMU) is an established unit within RSC that supports researchers working with KUHes, its affiliates, and students. The DMU aims to maintain Good Clinical Data Management Practice (GCDMP), which is the industry standard for ensuring the implementation of high-quality clinical data management processes. Additionally, the DMU offers various services including Case Report Form (CRF) design, development of CRF Completion Guidelines (CCGs), data collection and entry, data cleaning, data analysis, Data Quality Assessments, data integration, database development, and development of Windows-Based web or Mobile Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system and Data storage.

The unit offers a range of training courses, including but not limited to:

  • Introduction to Data Analysis using Stata.
  • Advanced course in statistical analysis
  • Clinical Research Data Management
  • Electronic Data Capturing
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Introduction to Qualitative Data Analysis using NVIVO.
  • Data Management using MS Excel
  • Data Management using STATA.
  • Data Management using SPSS.

The DMU also offers tailor-made courses upon request from organizations, departments, or study Principal Investigators. Furthermore, the unit provides one-on-one support (Research clinics) to faculty members, and undergraduate and postgraduate students, in the following areas:

  • Developing Research question and methodology
  • Setting up research objectives
  • Determination of research setting/site
  • Sample size determination
  • Data management and analysis.
  • Manuscript writing
  • Provided access to software like NVIVO, STATA, and SPSS and one-on-one introductory training in the aforementioned software.
